Sculptures

Selection of sculptures made in recent years; the common themes of these works are urban space, pollution, nature and decay of the urban environment. Most of the objects were created by reusing materials found on the street. Recycling is important to me and the way I realize my art. By working with materials from the streets, I collect the memory of those places. This way, I tell the stories of the urban space more authentically and with greater ease. The predominant colour in the works is grey. Grey is its own complement and is a colour with a close connection - at the conceptual level - with my memories of the area where I grew up; blocks of flats, factories, and the dust that clothed the city in different grey tones. Grey is used by ecologists to signify a polluted environment; it is the opposite of the term “green” used to describe nature. This colour is generally negative. In sociology, it symbolizes the sound that pollutes; in parapsychology, it was discovered that those who suffer from mental illness or depression have a grey aura, and in psychology, grey is usually synonymous with tern, grim, representing pessimism.
